Caballo Lake

Caballo Lake is located in southern New Mexico, approximately 18 miles south of Truth or Consequences. The lake was created by the construction of a dam on the Rio Grande in the 1930s, and it is now used for boating, fishing, swimming, and other recreational activities. The area around the lake is also popular for hiking, camping, and bird watching, with a variety of wildlife and plant species to be found. The lake is surrounded by rugged desert landscapes, with the Caballo Mountains to the west providing a scenic backdrop.
